Genesis 1: 13 - 3rd Day of Creation

June 7th, 2010

Printable Version

The Bible Bus seemed to be in a time warp, dry land with green plants popping up all over the place, fruiting, maturing in one day.  The Driver confessed that he couldn’t figure it out either.  Read the link below.

Genesis 1:11 - 12

Fruit of God’s Mind

Let’s make fields full of seed-bearing plants,

vegetation, leave nothing to chance.

Each according to kind.

All the fruit of Our Mind.

Fools will think it was just happen-stance.

Just a little confused here. Do animals have souls?

Yes they do. Your potato has a body. Your dog has a body and a mind (soul). You have a body, a mind(soul) and a spirit. Further discussion invited.

In Genesis 1:24 God brought forth every living creature and He saw that it was good. But in Genesis 2:24 it says the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. I see how God created every other thing that lives, but don't see how He breathed His own breath into them to create a living thing that had a soul.

In the case both of the animals in Genesis 1: 24 and of man in Genesis 2: 24 He uses the Hebrew term 'chay nephesh' meaning a breathing creature. (Strong's numbers 2416 and 5315). But in Genesis 2:7 He breathed into Adam additionally the breath of life, 'naphach n'shamah'( Strong's numbers 5301 and 5397), a term never used with animals. Hence the difference.

God breathed life into man. Does the Spirit indwell every human?

Every person has a spirit but the Holy Spirit indwells only those who have received that Gift. There are diverse spirits in the world today.
