Jeremiah 31: 26 - Sins Forgiven, Forgotten

Can you reconcile these two statements made in Jeremiah’s short prophecy, "Every one shall die for his own iniquity" and "I will forgive their iniquity"?   Compare the two links below.

Verses 31-34 were both fulfilled and reiterated in the New Testament.  See www.biblelimericks.com, Archives, "Hebrews 8: 13, A Chip Replaces Law Library".

Forgive and Forget

In those days, people died for their sins,

but in future, new cov’nant begins.

God can pull off this deal,

 and won’t have to repeal,

’cause He puts the new wine in new skins.

To forgive and forget is divine yet is commended to all believers.  Otherwise we become as "a dog which returns to his vomit".  Forgetting is possible because "I am crucified with Christ".  Dead men can’t remember.  Compare the two links below.
